Make a difference in our community. Volunteer at the library!
- Reading Buddies is the library’s after-school answer to the Third Grade Reading Guarantee. Join us as we help children not only prepare for the state reading test but also become engaged, lifelong readers. This hour-long opportunity is a quick way to make a big impact on children K-3 and their reading skills. Reading Buddies hours vary by location.
- Our Homework Help Centers rely on committed volunteers to help us assist students K-12 with math, science and other homework topics. We give basic assistance to students struggling with assignments and introduce them to the many resources the library has to offer.
- Our Ready for Kindergarten program teaches preschoolers and their parents what it’s like to be in school. From puzzles to crafts to alphabet lessons you can give children the kindergarten experience before they even get there. This opportunity is perfect for Early Childhood Development majors.
- Prefer to work with adults? Assist us with Circulation tasks, such as pulling customer reserves, or help customers use a computer to fill out an online application or resume. Opportunities to work with adults are limited and not available at all locations.
